The challenge
The company sells operations and reporting software to mid-market Brazilian teams. Product marketing had invested in English guest posts and generic marketing blogs. The referring-domain chart looked busy. Search Console for the category and comparison URLs that feed pipeline did not.
Competitors with thinner products outranked on commercial queries because their citations sat on Brazilian operations, logistics, and vertical SaaS titles buyers already read. The profile looked like a content mill portfolio, not a B2B vendor sold from Belo Horizonte.
The brief was not more volume. It was: make the money pages look like they belong next to Brazilian trade coverage, with anchors a writer would actually type, and with a pool the sales team could defend in a pipeline meeting.
The approach
We named three destination URLs: two comparisons and one category hub. Outreach paused on unfinished templates. Criteria covered niche, Ahrefs DR, Moz DA, Majestic TF, and a traffic floor, plus monthly volume. A sample list with full metrics and pricing went out usually within 24 hours. The client approved a pool of about twice the monthly target.
Prospects came from Brazilian trade press covering operations software, analytics, and mid-market IT, not from a recycled SaaS guest-post list. Every host was hand-vetted for bylines, outbound patterns, and topical overlap. Thin sites, PBNs, and manipulated-metric domains were removed before the client saw them.
In-house Brazilian Portuguese writers drafted articles past 1,500 words unless a shorter length was requested, with one or two high-authority external citations and the brand worked in naturally. Exact-match commercial anchors were capped. Live URLs were confirmed and added to a shared Google Sheet that updates in real time.
Results
By the end of 6 months, organic sessions on the three target URLs rose 49 percent against the prior period. Non-brand clicks in Search Console for the Brazilian property moved in the same direction.
Industry and business-press placements on the approved pool reached 31. Referral sessions from accepted hosts stayed modest in absolute terms but clicked, which is a useful quality signal for B2B.
The referring-domain mix shifted toward trade and product titles Brazilian buyers recognise. Unsolicited mentions from adjacent Brazilian blogs began appearing without outreach, which is the unglamorous proof the graph noticed.
What we declined
- Recycled English SaaS guest-post lists with no Brazilian trade fit.
- Thin marketing blogs and PBN-looking networks that failed the hand-vet.
- Exact-match commercial anchors that read like ad copy.
- Spanish Latin American B2B packages offered as a Brazil substitute.
Closing notes
English campaigns for other markets remain a separate brief. The Brazilian work continues with the same three destination URLs until new commercial templates are ready.
If a month is quiet because two trade desks have not replied, the Google Sheet update is that sentence. Volume without neighbourhood quality would undo the point of the engagement.
